Freedom is Choice

Freedom is a quality of activity, not a condition that exists in a vaccum: it is a prize to be won daily, not a possesion that can be kept in the basement and taken out and polished up for parades. Freedom cannot be givin - the most you can hope is to free others from the forces that prevent them from finding it themselves. Real freedom has nothing to do with voting. Real freedom dosen't simply mean being able to choose between options, but actively participating in creating the options in the first place.

Voting in elections is an expression of our powerlessness: it is an admission that we can only approach the resources and capabilities of our own society through the mediation of the ruling caste. When we let them prefabricate our options for us, we relinquish controll of our communities to these polliticians in the same way that we have ceeded technology to engineers, health care to doctors, and controll of our living environments to city planners and private real estate developers. We end up living in a world that is alien to us, even though our labor has built it, for we have acted like sleepwalkers hypnotized by the monopoly our leaders and specialists hold on setting the possibilities.

Living Without Permission

Each of us has a part to play, each of us will experience their calling in this time of life. There are no boundaries, no dividing lines. The Book of Life is simply a very long story with many characters, and even the few who stand and oppose The Coming Wave have a critical role to play in it's formation. See here, every stumble, every setback, every simple challenge surpassed is a gain in knowing of Your strength.

Accomplishing the impossible is only as impossible as we choose to allow. Success without setback is a fruit fallen, often stepped over, stomped on and often tasteless. The true glory in our success has grown from the soil of setback and opposition. Those who would covet our freedom in this country know the truth: It is the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe in it.

Most of us see the chaos in the world, and by now it seems we realize that we are in the center of it, that the choices we have made collectively will eventually destroy us.

Its not that we arrived here on purpose... None of us wake up in the morning with the singular purpose of tearing down the only home we will ever have. Regrettably, under all our pretense, that is the gravity of the situation. We are all in it together, for bad or for worse.

each of us have a choice to make, but as it took many hands to destroy heaven on earth, we must make a collective decision that we can no longer reward the chaos around us. If each of us can make that change in our lives, the seeds of change can grow back from the ashes.
